Ohhhhh Sephora…..I remember the day I first got my VIB card. I was at Sephora in South Park Mall in Charlotte, North Carolina. I was probably about 15. I remember being so excited and even more excited about all the cool gifts I was going to get as a member. To this day, Sephora has not disappointed. They probably have one of the best loyalty programs I am part of. Especially considering how often I am able to choose a gift from that brilliant glass case at the check out counter. Does that make me a make up addict? Ok, well I guess I can live with that. So on an even more exciting note today on my Instagram you will find a giveaway for a $400 Sephora gift card, and in case you need some ideas on how to spend that, I have some for you below. Just to give you an idea, all of ... View Post
It’s Not Summer Without Ribs
As I heard mentioned the other day, August is the Sunday of Summer and I just couldn't let this Summer end without grillin' up some ribs. But first, Nordstrom
ahhhh the Nordstrom Sale is here once again. Sometimes it is hard for us Texans to take advantage of all the wonderful and beautiful items that are on sale, because it can be arduous to imagine wearing a coat when it is 105 degrees outside. However, there are some fun items that we can start to incorporate for Fall transition. I don't always wear words on my shirt, but when I do. . . it means I really mean what it says. I also love this cotton blend midi skirt, but ordered it a tad too big . . . cute nonetheless! This dress I LOVE! I paired it with over the knee boots that give it a more casual vibe, but it can be dressed up with heels too. I added this cute pearl brooch that I think gives it a really unique and classic look. Below are just a few of my favorite Nordstrom ... View Post
A Good Southern Girl’s Pool Day Essentials
Everyone loves a pool day! It's like a mini vacation but without having to get on a plane. I love taking a Saturday and heading to the pool to relax and unwind. But before you go I have some things that you are going to want to bring with you and not forget! 1. Pool Tote You can’t have a proper pool day without a pool tote. This is your chance to find something fun and whimsical, don’t cart around a boring pool bag . . . it is so unfun. 2. Beach Towel & Sunnies A bath towel just won’t do, I prefer extra large towels anyway and you have to have a colorful beach towel to go along with your fun bag. Probably the worst thing that could happen is to get to the pool and realize you don’t have your sunglasses with you. Pack these first! 3. Pillow When I take time to ... View Post

How I Transformed My Antique Dresser
I have had this dresser since I was a young girl. I tend to prefer an antique style over a more modern/contemporary one so I was inspired to reform my dresser. Also, I did not want to go through the trouble of acquiring a new one as well as deal with all the sentimentalities of doing away with my old one. Have a look at my transformation journey! Materials Needed: Drop Cloth Sanding Paper (I used fine paper) Multiple Paint brushes Chalk Paint (Lowe's, Target for metallic) Wax Coating (Lowe's) Sponge (Hobby Lobby) Prime Paint (if you plan to paint metal, Target) A couple of tips I want to share with y’all that may be of assistance if you ever decide to take on a project like this. 1. You don’t have to sand down your project prior to starting, but it ... View Post
