Grapevine, Texas established in 1844 didn’t get its name by mistake. GRAPE-vine is a quaint town in the northwest corner of Dallas, and sits nicely right in between Dallas and Fort Worth. The town is full of character, history and did I mention wine? It is too easy for locals to take for granted all Grapevine has to offer…festivals, shopping, great food, and wine!
In order to adequately explore Grapevine, I teamed up with my dear friend The Candid Millennial! And we did nothing short of having a BLAST! Our first stop was Messina Hof Winery, a pretty well-known Texas vineyard. Normally I prefer Cabernet, but on this day, it was particularly hot so I was much more keen on trying the chilled Rosé. They even offer frozé which we all know has been the new craze in recent years, and I had no problem discovering why.
We ended up wandering in Main Street Bistro for a little nosh and it was delightful. The menu and atmosphere fit quiet nicely into our self guided wine crawl. As a calamari connoisseur, I would recommend theirs, it was pret-ty tasty!
Grapevine also puts on a rather robust Farmer’s Market on Fridays and Saturdays 8am-4pm starting late Spring and ending in early Fall. I love Farmer’s Markets because you are not only supporting the local community, but in my opinion end up with higher quality products.
As we know, everything is bigger in Texas….
If you are wondering what to wear for your next weekend outing, have a glance at my suggestions below. I like easy, but cute tops that do not restrict movement. Jeans are always classic and are better for evening outings, it dresses it up a little, and I always like to have fun with earrings. There are so many colorful earrings out right now to take advantage of!
