Makeup is something that has been ingrained in my life I feel like since birth, I’ll never forget my mom getting a phone call from my fifth grade teacher (who was not very nice and probably shouldn’t have been a teacher by the way) about me wearing “makeup.” I say “makeup” because it was an icy pink eye shadow stick from the tween store Claire’s and I don’t know that I would really ever classify that as makeup. On top of that it was picture day, so obviously I was trying to look my best, it’s not like I wore the horrid icy pink eye shadow every day. Are you starting to realize why I did not favor my fifth-grade teacher?
Annnyyyway, growing up with my mother was like growing up with a makeup addict. It is impossible for her to walk away from the makeup counter without spending somewhere in the ball park of $500…..I have witnessed it happen numerous times, and it is what I would classify as a phenomenon. So needless to say, I turned into a makeup lover myself, I don’t know what life looks like without some face paint.
I want to share with you some of Suze’s latest favorite make up bag must haves for Spring. (And while I love them all the last one is particularly my pick)
1. Trish McEvoy Instant Eye Brightener – This one, if I am honest, I wasn’t too sure of at first. It just seemed like another highlighter to me and when initially applying it, I thought it wasn’t nearly dramatic enough. Once I played around with it more, I discovered it is great for every day eye brightening, and it is very easy to apply. I put it on over my foundation and under my powder. If you use under-eye concealer, I would recommended applying on top of the concealer, but just as I did, play around with it and see what works best for you. There are times I actually forgot to apply it before my powder, and I found that it goes over my face powder great and I get a slightly more dramatic highlight. *They have different colors in the Instant Eye Brightener, ones for lighter complexions and ones for darker complexions, make sure you get the best color for your complexion
2. Trish McEvoy Liquid Face Color – Okay, I typically do not like anything other than powder blush, but lately I am really into buildable make up. Apply Liquid Face Color over foundation and before powder. It gives you a beautiful baby doll glow that you can build with powder blush if you choose. Or wear it by itself for a soft subtle glow…
3. Trish McEvoy Beauty Booster Lip & Cheek Color – Yaaawwlll! I absolutely looove this stuff! The texture of this is THE BEST. I used it to line my lips, then fill them in. The color is actually one that I probably wouldn’t have normally chosen for myself but I actually really liked it (Plum). You wanna know the coolest part about this beauty booster?? You can use it on your cheeks too! Two in one? Yes Please!
4. Bobbi Brown Long Wear Liquid Liner – First off, the color I have in this is called Night Sky Sparkle, Need I say more? I am obsessed with this eye liner. It is sparkly! What better to make you feel girly and glam? You can wear this by itself for a super sparkly look, what I really like about it, is that it is easy to apply. I actually used my regular liner and then traced Night Sky Sparkle over it for a more dramatic look. This liner comes in all sorts of colors, Suze and I went to the store and actually tested them out, we love them all but we had to go with Night Sky Sparkle for now!
Not only is it important to look good from the front but from the back too! This sweater is a perfect transition piece for Spring!
