I don’t think I have to explain to you how busy and fast paced of a world we live in. I too find myself getting sucked in, but 2018 will be the year I yank myself out of the black hole of busyness. A great way to climb your way out, is to read. Whether it be a book or a magazine I make a point to take time out for reading usually every other Saturday morning, if not every Saturday Morning. I wanted to suggest some of the publications I think are worthwhile. If you are looking for a way to change up your routine or life in 2018, I recommend establishing a Saturday Morning Ritual, schedule time that is sacred and can not be disrupted.
On the Saturday Mornings that I take time to read, I wake up late somewhere in the neighborhood of 9 or 10, I go downstairs and make myself some coffee or tea, and bring it back upstairs and get back in bed. I fluff my pillows behind me and am propped up ready to unleash my bookworm self.
1. Town & Country
My first stop is usually my fresh edition of Town & Country. This is my fashion/social Bible. I actually read every page of this magazine. The articles are always intelligently fulfilling and their merchandise spreads ignite me from within.
2. Southern Lady
Southern Lady is the ultimate in southern style and entertaining. Every page flip brings fresh ideas, and provides inspiration that is actually implementable.
3. Southern Home
I make a vision board at least once a year, and most of my dream houses that end up on my vision board come from Southern Home Magazine. This publication is filled with beautiful photo spreads and will do nothing short of feeding your imagination.
4. French Style
Alright y’all, I think I was definitely French in my past life. French Style Magazine is filled with traditional plush luxury. Not only are there photo spreads gorgeous, but it is also filled with decorating tips along the way. Here is one from their latest edition… “Going to the classics for inspiration will always ensure longevity of design” something people don’t remember often enough these days!
5. Southern Living
Ok, last but surely not least…..the southern bible of magazines….Southern Living. A staple of the south since 1966, there is no other publication that can help you navigate southern lifestyle better. If you call yourself a southerner, but don’t read this regularly, you may want to rethink your life.
How cute are these kate spade Pajamas???? I’m a little obsessed…
