If you are in the process of planning your wedding, and haven’t considered an aisle runner I would recommend looking into it. It is a simple way to add your personal style to your venue and is a detail that does not go unnoticed. Your wedding is the first day of the rest of your life, and the decor and details collectively see you off to the first day as a married couple. Not to get too dramatic here… but your wedding style is the basis for your life. Those pictures really are forever.
It’s been almost 4 years since my newly wedded blissful day and I have had my aisle runner rolled up under the bed ever since. I decided to repurpose it as a piece of art in my house because I don’t have much space to spare for storing things.
I found a fabric shop I used when our puppy ripped up our ottoman and they did a great job reupholstering it. They have thousands of fabric choices and trims. I took my aisle runner in and they helped me to pick the trim after I explained to them what I was wanting. They were excellent! If you live in the Dallas area, I highly recommend using them for any fabric or reupholster need! They even came out to take a look at where I would be hanging it before they started on the project to make sure all of the measurements and length would be accurate and that it would look great once it was hanging!
When I went to pick it up, I embarrassingly teared up. It looked soo good and I was soo thrilled that I would have a beautiful reminder hanging in my home, of the best day of my life. I had Berkley Decor come out and hang it which made that part of the process much easier. Just a little steaming and it was ready to go! And for those of you who are wondering….yes, I do house chores in my heals all the time…duh!
The result is a beautiful piece of art we will have forever to remind us of the most blissful moments on our magnificent May day.
